Before running anything, Photoshop needs one important setting turned on. Open Photoshop, go into Preferences, then find Image Processing. Under the Select Subject processing option, switch it to Cloud.

This is the key upgrade. The cloud-powered selection is much more reliable than the older local option, especially when the background is busy or the subject has awkward edges like hair, wheels, gaps, or small cutout areas.
After changing the setting, restart Photoshop so the update takes effect.
Run the auto background remover script
Once Photoshop is ready, open the custom auto remover script from the Scripts menu. The script keeps things simple. You are basically filling out a few fields and then letting it process the sequence on its own.
Here is what to select:
- Input folder with the PNG sequence you exported from Resolve
- Output folder where the cutout frames will be saved
- Format left as PNG
- Prefix for the output filenames
- Four-digit numbering to preserve sequence order
- Auto remove background checked on
There is also an option to run an additional Photoshop action if you need more processing, but for a basic background removal pass, it is not necessary.
Once you click run, Photoshop starts opening each frame, removing the background, and saving the result into the output folder. You will see a progress indicator while it works, and you can cancel if needed. Depending on the shot length and the complexity of the images, this may take a while, so it is the kind of process you can leave running and come back to later.
